Kompetensi apa yang harus dimiliki oleh seorang guru?

Halo semuanya! Apa kabar kalian? Semoga tetap berada di dalam keadaan yang sehat wal’afiat ya!

Ini adalah postingan keduaku di blog kesayanganku ini xD

Dan postinganku kali ini tentang “Kompetensi apa yang harus dimiliki oleh seorang guru?”

Woah! Topik yang cukup menarik bukan? Dan ini adalah tugas akhir semester pertamaku dengan dosen pembimbing bapak Drs. Masyhur, M. Ed.

Baiklah aku akan menjelaskannya disini! Semoga bisa menambah wawasanmu ya!



Menurut Undang-Undang Republik Indonesia Nomor 14 Tahun 2005 Tentang Guru dan Dosen menyatakan bahwa kompetensi adalah seperangkat pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan perilaku yang harus dimiliki, dihayati, dan dikuasai oleh guru atau dosen dalam melaksanakan tugas keprofesionalan. Menurut Finch & Crunkilton, (1992: 220) Menyatakan “Kompetencies are those taks, skills, attitudes, values, and appreciation thet are deemed critical to successful employment”. Pernyataan ini mengandung makna bahwa kompetensi meliputi tugas, keterampilan, sikap, nilai, apresiasi diberikan dalam rangka keberhasilan hidup/penghasilan hidup. Hal tersebut dapat diartikan bahwa kompetensi merupakan perpaduan antara pengetahuan, kemampuan, dan penerapan dalam melaksanakan tugas di lapangan kerja. Kompetensi guru terkait dengan kewenangan melaksanakan tugasnya, dalam hal ini dalam menggunakan bidang studi sebagai bahan pembelajaran yang berperan sebagai alat pendidikan, dan kompetensi pedagogis yang berkaitan dengan fungsi guru dalam memperhatikan perilaku peserta didik belajar (Djohar, 2006 : 130).

Dari pengertian di atas dapat disimpulkan bahwa kompetensi guru adalah hasil dari penggabungan dari kemampuan-kemampuan yang banyak jenisnya, dapat berupa seperangkat pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan perilaku yang harus dimiliki, dihayati, dan dikuasai oleh guru dalam menjalankan tugas keprofesionalannya. Menurut Suparlan (2008:93) menambahkan bahwa standar kompetensi guru dipilah ke dalam tiga komponen yang saling berkaitan, yaitu pengelolaan pembelajaran, pengembangan profesi, dan penguasaan akademik.

Menurut Peraturan Menteri Pendidikan Nasional Republik Indonesia Nomor 16 Tahun 2007 Tentang Standar Kualifikasi Akademik dan Kompetensi Guru, adapun macam-macam kompetensi yang harus dimiliki oleh tenaga guru antara lain: kompetensi pedagogik, kepribadian, profesional dan sosial yang diperoleh melalui pendidikan profesi. Keempat kompetensi tersebut terintegrasi dalam kinerja guru.

1)      Kompetensi Pedagogik

Kompetensi pedagogik meliputi pemahaman guru terhadap peserta didik, perancangan dan pelaksanaan pembelajaran, evaluasi hasil belajar, dan pengembangan peserta didik untuk mengaktualisasikan berbagai potensi yang dimilikinya.  

2)      Kompetensi Kepribadian

Kompetensi kepribadian merupakan kemampuan personal yang mencerminkan kepribadian yang mantap, stabil, dewasa, arif, dan berwibawa, menjadi teladan bagi peserta didik, dan berakhlak mulia.  

3)      Kompetensi Sosial

Kompetensi sosial merupakan kemampuan guru untuk berkomunikasi dan bergaul secara efektif dengan peserta didik, sesama pendidik, tenaga kependidikan, orang tua/wali peserta didik, dan masyarakat sekitar.  

4)      Kompetensi Profesional

Kompetensi profesional merupakan penguasaan materi pembelajaran secara luas dan mendalam, yang mencakup penguasaan materi kurikulum mata pelajaran di sekolah dan substansi keilmuan yang menaungi materinya, serta penguasaan terhadap stuktur dan metodologi keilmuannya.   kompetensi tersebut di atas bersifat holistik dan integratif dalam kinerja guru.

 Oleh karena itu, secara utuh sosok kompetensi guru meliputi (a) pengenalan peserta didik secara mendalam; (b) penguasaan bidang studi baik disiplin ilmu (disciplinary content) maupun bahan ajar dalam kurikulum sekolah (c) penyelenggaraan pembelajaran yang mendidik yang meliputi perencanaan dan pelaksanaan pembelajaran, evaluasi proses dan hasil belajar, serta tindak lanjut untuk perbaikan dan pengayaan; dan (d) pengembangan kepribadian dan profesionalitas secara berkelanjutan. Guru yang memiliki kompetensi akan dapat melaksanakan tugasnya secara profesional (Ngainun Naim, 2009:60).

Woah ternyata menjadi guru yang berkompeten sulit juga ya xD

What competencies should a teacher have?

Hello all! How are you? May stay in good health! This is my second post on my favorite blog xD And my post this time about  "What competencies should a teacher have?”
Woah! Interesting topic isn't it?  and this one is for my Final Exam Assignment, adrdressed to lecturer, Mr. Drs. Masyhur,M. Ed.
Okay, I'll explain it here! Hopefully you can increase your knowledge!
According to the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 14 of 2005 concerning Teachers and Lecturers stated that competence is a set of knowledge, skills, and behaviors that must be possessed, internalized, and mastered by the teacher or lecturer in carrying out professional duties. According to Finch & Crunkilton, (1992: 220) states "Competencies are those taks, skills, attitudes, values, and appreciation that are deemed critical to successful employment". This statement implies that competence includes tasks, skills, attitudes, values, appreciation given in the context of life / income life success. This can be interpreted that competence is a combination of knowledge, ability, and application in carrying out tasks in the workforce. Teacher competency is related to the authority to carry out their duties, in this case in using the field of study as learning material which acts as an educational tool, and pedagogical competence related to the function of the teacher in paying attention to students' learning behavior (Djohar, 2006: 130).

From the above understanding, it can be concluded that teacher competence is the result of the merging of abilities of many types, can be in the form of a set of knowledge, skills, and behaviors that must be owned, lived and mastered by the teacher in carrying out his professional duties. According to Suparlan (2008: 93) added that teacher competency standards are divided into three interrelated components, namely management of learning, professional development, and academic mastery.

According to the Republic of Indonesia Minister of National Education Regulation Number 16 of 2007 concerning Academic Qualification Standards and Teacher Competencies, the types of competencies that must be possessed by teachers include: pedagogical, personality, professional and social competencies obtained through professional education. The fourth competency integrated in teacher performance:

1)      Pedagogic Competence

Pedagogic competencies include teacher understanding of students, design and implementation of learning, evaluation of learning outcomes, and development of students to actualize their various potentials.  

2)      Personality Competence

Personality competency is a personal ability that reflects a stable, mature, wise and authoritative personality, becomes a role model for students, and has a noble character.  

3)      Social Competence

Social competency is the teacher's ability to communicate and interact effectively with students, fellow educators, education personnel, parents / guardians of students, and the surrounding community.  

4)      Professional Competence

Professional competence is the mastery of learning material widely and deeply, which includes mastery of curriculum subject matter in schools and scientific substance that overshadow the material, as well as mastery of the structure and scientific methodology.

The four competencies mentioned above are holistic and integrative in teacher performance. Therefore,   the teacher's competency figure includes :

a)      The introduction of students in depth;

b)      Mastery of the field of study in both disciplines (disciplinary content) and teaching materials in the school curriculum

c)      The implementation of educational learning which includes planning and implementing learning, evaluating learning processes and outcomes, and follow-up for improvement and enrichment; and

d)     Continuous development of personality and professionalism. Teachers who have competence will be able to carry out their duties professionally (Ngainun Naim, 2009: 60).

Hello everyone. Welcome to my blog.this is my first post. In here I’d like to tell you my life story ever since I was born until I am right now. This essay is for my Education Foundation Lesson, led by lecturer Mr. Mahsyur, M.Ed. Anyway, I hope you enjoy reading this. Happy reading!

On February 19, 2001, on Monday, a baby girl was born. The baby was named "Tiara Mutia Listy" and that's me. Just like other children I grow up healthy without any shortcomings. Start talking, sitting, and walking according to age. I am the first child of 3 siblings, and only I am the daughter of my parents. My father is a police and my mother is a nurse at a community health center in my area.


My childhood is very fun, playing bicycles or robot dolls and sometimes watching my favorite animated broadcast "Astro Boy". You could say I was a tomboy lol. I had lived in Pekanbaru before, but when I was in grade 3 elementary school, I was required to move to Tembilahan because of my mother's work, and my father remained in Pekanbaru. Anyway, I don't want to tell you about my life in Tembilahan, because it's bad memories and I don't want to remember it.

And Alhamdulillah when I was in 5th grade elementary school I moved back because of my mother's work. And this time I moved to Pelalawan. Here my father has been transferred so that I can meet him every day.

The period of junior high school to senior high school is very happy. My ambition at that time wanted to be a doctor and could help many people. I study hard and diligently. But when I was in 3rd grade of senior high school my parents didn’t agree with my dream. Especially my mother. Well even though my mother also works in the health world she doesn't want me to be in that world. It makes me sad for a few weeks. She asked me to become a teacher. Because she said I am good to be a teacher rather than a doctor.  As an obedient daughter I can only obey my mother's will. And since I also like language, she encouraged me to choose English Department, and I’m agree with it. When announcing the SNMPTN, who would have thought my mother’s choice would make me able to be in IA class, English Department at the University of Riau.

SURPRISED? YES I WAS! 

And from that moment I tried to accept the reality and tried to love this study program xD
Hmmm…Even though I can't be a doctor, I hope my child can become a doctor later. Ameen XDD
